Our Story

Aretera was founded on a simple idea: that the world’s most dynamic markets deserve counsel built on excellence and virtue.

Our roots lie in Central and Eastern Europe, where experienced public affairs leaders came together from Budapest, Warsaw, Sofia, Prague, and other regional capitals. These were professionals who had built and led prominent agencies across the region – individuals who witnessed the transformation underway as EU integration opened new frontiers for multinational enterprises. Together, we helped shape this evolution, as fragmented emerging markets evolved into regional powerhouses with global economic significance.

As our clients’ ambitions expanded, so did ours. Recognising shifting geopolitical and economic currents, we extended our reach to Ukraine, Türkiye, Central Asia, Moldova, the Western Balkans, the South Caucasus, and MENA. These markets – dynamic, fast-moving, and often misunderstood – represent the new frontiers where multinational corporations seek growth, but where they also face some of their most complex challenges.

Today, while we remain firmly anchored in our core CEE markets and continue to deepen our presence there, our compass increasingly points toward these emerging regions. We navigate intricate political, regulatory, and reputational landscapes on behalf of leading global companies across technology, infrastructure, healthcare, transport, finance, and many other sectors and industries.
