Azad Garibov

Azad is a government relations specialist with over 15 years of experience across Azerbaijan, Türkiye and the South Caucasus region. His expertise spans policy development, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications.

Azad brings extensive experience from his roles in government, international organizations and consultancy. He has worked for the Government of Azerbaijan, held positions at the United Nations and the World Health Organisation in various policy and communication roles. In 2024, he was invited to be part of the COP29 Presidential Initiatives Action Agenda team, devising and implementing initiatives that would define Azerbaijan's Presidency of COP. Throughout his career, he has consulted numerous public and private sector clients in the South Caucasus region, specializing in tech, digitalization, health and transportation sectors.

Azad completed his PhD in Political Economy at Central European University in Vienna. He has studied at institutions in the UK and US, complementing his academic credentials with international exposure and expertise. Azad has remained in academia throughout his career, and continues to serve as a part-time international politics Professor at Baku-based ADA university. He is a native Azeri speaker and is fluent in English, Turkish and Russian.
