Anamaria Neagu

Anamaria is a strategic communications professional with over 20 years of experience from the media, as well as public and private sector institutions. With a strong foundation in journalism and public communications, she specializes in strategic planning, campaign development, stakeholder engagement and public policy communication. Anamaria currently leads complex communication projects supporting institutional transparency and public awareness, with a focus on science communication, medical communication, as well as on innovation and technology.

Anamaria is also a Senior Lecturer and former dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences at the University of Bucharest. She worked as a journalist for almost ten years for some of the largest newspapers and TV stations in Romania. Her professional focus includes science communication and medical communication, with research and training activities carried out in national and international projects. Previously, she was an advisor to the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization and one of the first contributors to the creation of the first training programs in ​​Medical Humanities in Romania. Anamaria works with researchers from the largest research and development institutes and frequently supports communication trainings and workshops for doctors from Romania’s largest hospitals.

Anamaria has authored several books and scientific articles in the media and PR field, with a current focus on innovation and AI instruments for journalists and public relations specialists. She is a member of the European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA) and the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), while she is also a Public Service Leadership Program Fellow at the Aspen Institute Romania.
