Aleš Pospíšil

Aleš has extensive experience across public affairs consultancy, journalism and international diplomacy, having served as a spokesman for the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as a Consul General of the Czech Republic in New York. Aleš has provided C-suite strategic counsel to international companies in Prague and regionally across all aspects of government relations, wider stakeholder engagement and crisis and issues management.

Professional experience

Aleš started his career as a television journalist for a Czech's leading TV channel where he covered international developments and eventually has become the Head of the foreign news desk.

In 1998 he moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Press Secretary of the Ministry and later of the section of Communication and Public Policy. Thereafter he assumed the position of the Consul General of the Czech Republic in New York. In 2006 Aleš was appointed Deputy Head of Cultural Relations in the Ministry.

In 2007 Aleš moved into public affairs consultancy, first as a Director for Public Affairs and later as Executive Director of the Czech office of the leading communications consultancy Grayling. From 2014 Aleš then assumed senior positions in various leading companies on the Czech's market in entertainment, business rating, and energy supply.

Background

Aleš has an MA Degree in Anglo-American Studies and Political Science & International Relations from Charles University in Prague. He also completed one year study of International Relations at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

Languages

Aleš is fluent in Czech and English and has a good command of Russian.
