Aretera is pleased to announce that Isidora Šmigić has joined our Serbian practice as Senior Associate, while Damir Softić has been appointed to the role of Associate Director in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Isidora Šmigić, Senior Associate, Adria & Western Balkans
Isidora is a public policy professional, bringing over seven years of experience at the intersection of strategic stakeholder engagement, healthcare digitalization, and innovation policy. She has worked extensively with both public and private stakeholders to support evidence‑based regulatory reform and advance digital transformation in the healthcare sector.
Prior to joining Aretera, Isidora worked at NALED, Serbia’s leading public‑private think tank, where she led initiatives on healthcare and biotech regulation, including the development of Serbia’s legal framework for electronic health records and alignment of clinical trial legislation with EU standards. Earlier in her career, she contributed to European policy advocacy through her role at the Schwarzkopf Foundation in Germany.
Damir Softić, Associate Director, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Damir is a strategic advisor with extensive experience in policy, regulatory affairs, and governance, supporting public institutions, financial organizations, and private sector clients across Europe. He brings advisory expertise from PwC, Deloitte, and KPMG, where he delivered projects on governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, and has also served as a legal specialist for leading banks, including ZiraatBank and NLB, advising on operational resilience and strategic legal matters.
Prior to joining Aretera, Damir contributed to governance and policy initiatives within the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and has been actively engaged in European policy and technology networks. Bridging law, policy, and advisory practice, he offers a regional and international perspective on regulatory, cybersecurity, and data protection challenges, helping clients confidently navigate complex regulatory and digital landscapes.
