Claudia Zygmunt

Claudia is an international lawyer and public affairs specialist with extensive experience in human rights, international law and public diplomacy.
Prior to joining Aretera, Claudia supported legislative work at the US Congress in Washington DC under the prestigious Tom Lantos Congressional Fellowship, becoming only the first Polish national ever selected for the program. Previously, she served as a Higher Executive Officer at the British Embassy in Warsaw for over three years, covering domestic politics, human rights, the rule of law and high-level diplomatic visits on behalf of the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Claudia’s professional experience also extends to leading international organizations, including the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and Polish Humanitarian Action.
In addition, Claudia has co-led nationwide initiatives in Poland such as 16 Leaders of Equality and Girls to Vote, promoting gender equality and civic engagement. In recognition of her work, Forbes Women named Claudia among the "23 Women for 2023." She was also selected as an expert in the OSCE's Pool of Young Experts and is a recipient of the American Society of International Law’s Women in International Law Mentoring Program award.
Claudia holds an LL.M. in Human Rights from Central European University in Vienna, where she graduated as Valedictorian, and a Master of Law from Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Her academic background is further enriched by studies in international and European law at Tel Aviv University and Leiden University.
